Choosing Wisely: Value Added Cancer Care for India

Two-day intensive training course for early career oncologists

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the International Scientific Committee and the local organising committee, we would like to invite you to participate in this superb summit designed to support the continued medical education of early career oncologists. The meeting is being held at the Max Cancer Care Institute, Saket, New Delhi in 2021.

The meeting will be organised by faculty from King's College, London, the Max Cancer Care Institute  and ecancer. ecancer is a UK charity providing free/low cost education to the oncology community, to support better outcomes for cancer patients. The meeting will be held under the auspices of The National Cancer Grid of India and The All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

The meeting will be attended by around 250 early career oncologists from across India, as well as surgical, ENT, and radiotherapy trainees and other doctors involved in the first line treatment of cancer.

Our goal is to extend the knowledge of prevention, screening, diagnostics, palliation and therapeutics topics in the five most commonly diagnosed malignancies (breast, gynaecological, lung, head and neck and gastric cancer).

These topics will be approached from the perspective of 'choosing wisely', an initiative recently launched in India which is seeking to reduce low value and harmful practices in cancer care . The programme will be delivered by regional and international experts.

Our objective is to help support capacity building in the Indian healthcare system, promote best practice and ultimately deliver better outcomes for cancer patients.

Low cost registration

Tickets will be ₹500 to make the conference accesible to medical students.

In the meantime if you have any questions about the programme, please email the ecancer team at events@ecancer.org.

We look forward to welcoming you to New Delhi.

Warmest regards,
